State of the Raid 🔥 September 2022

Published By Raid Guild | Sep 2 2022

Updating you on the Latest Happenings at Raid Guild!

Moloch is a formidable foe, but our battle axes are sharp and blood stained. Summer has been a wild ride, but Raid Guild members will be sharing foamy mugs of beer in an IRL tavern. We can’t wait to see each other at MCON, just days away.

The Merge is two weeks away and DevCon is in October, the first one since before the pandemic. We have much to look forward to!

Apprentice Cohorts

Raid Guild received over 200 applications for our Apprentice Cohorts in the last few months. 40 of them attended the Season V info session and about half have officially joined the cohort.

Season V is the 6th iteration of the apprentice program over the last 1.5 years and this is really a talented crew. We look forward to what they MAKE as a cohort!

Rite of Moloch

Some of the Raid Guild members whip up smart contracts for fun. @st4rgard3n did that with a soulbound token contract that could be used for DAO onboarding. New apprentices stake tokens, giving them the opportunity to have a little skin in the game.

Fellow Raid Guild members, @bitbeckers and @Saimano, built the prototype front end and now apprentices from Season V are reviewing the contracts and finishing the front end.

This dApp can potentially deploy clones for other DAOs that are onboarding cohorts, requiring users to stake certain assets. The participants receive a soulbound token, after staking. This token is used to provide gated access to the cohort and internal resources. The staked assets are forfeited if the user doesn’t complete the onboarding process. We look forward to other DAOs and communities using this mechanism!

Red Pils

For those of you blessed by the Blood of Moloch at EthDenver 2022, anticipation has been painful for what Raid Brood will do at MCON. Don’t worry, our very own Sasquatch has crafted another brew.

This one is more like summer. Red Pil is a crisp, dry, traditional pilsner profile.

Join us on September 6, from 3-5 pm, at WoodsBoss Brewery in Denver, to celebrate the release of the Red Pil pilsner. If you’re not already a member of Raid Brood, you’ll have a chance to get your loot shares then.

See You at MCON

MCON gives everyone the worst case of FOMO. Even if you’ve got the invite, there are just too many things to do to get them all in. What makes it worse is that as you’re trying to weed out the uninteresting ones, there aren’t any.

Rave Guild

Raid Guild is partnering with MetaFactory for a send-off that everyone at MCON is praying for an invite to. We also have our demon-slaying fingers in all sorts of Web3 shenanigans for MCON experiences. The official closing party will actually be three separate venues at one location, giving you a choice in how you spend your last MCON evening, and with whom. There’s no bad choices here. Thanks to the co-sponsors of the event, Zypsy, MIDAO, and Decentraland!

See you on the dance floor, with jams from our very own archer @Jaqi.
